The incident occurred at about 2am on June 18, at a house rented by the suspect in Kampung Langgar, Malaysia.
The suspect and his family moved into the house about a week before the incident happened.
He had extended his business hours till about 3am or 4am since the World Cup began, but was have believed to have gone home earlier to watch the match between Brazil and Mexico, which started at 3am.
The 28-year-old suspect surrendered to the nearest police station after slashing the two victims.
The suspect's wife sustained serious cuts on her left thigh and the stall helper's left hand was almost severed in the incident.
Both were admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
The suspect was remanded for a week to facilitate investigations and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of Penal Code.
