U.S. Rapper Kanye West is planning to build a cathedral inspired by the Spain’s famous La Sagrada Familia as a token of his enduring love for wife Kim Kardashian, The National Enquirer reports.
“They want somewhere that weddings, baptisms and family funerals can take place for years to come,” a source revealed.
“But Kanye being Kanye, it’s going to be ludicrously over the top!” gin as soon as possible, said the source. “He’ll keep adding on to the structure, so it’s a working piece of art,” the insider added.
“Kanye sees it as a monument to him and Kim that will become a major landmark. “He says everyone will want to see it, like the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building.
“He’s already set aside $5 million to get the work started and plans on doing a series of shows to help fund the construction.
“He’s also considering starting an online appeal so that fans can donate to the building fund.”
For years, Kanye wanted to build a church for his deeply religious mother, Donda, claimed the source. But his dream was dashed when she died tragically after plastic surgery in 2007.
“He wants this church to include a chapel as a tribute to his mom, along with a stained glass window featuring him, Kim and their daughter, North.
“The cathedral will be nondenominational, and Kanye intends it to be a permanent place of worship for the entire Kardashian clan.
