According to State Police commissioner, Nasiru Oki, Maimako Shephang who lives in Kwalla village, Shendam local government area of the state, had lured his wife Agnes to the bush and handed her over to two masked men.
Reportedly, the men needed a virgin for their spiritual sacrifice. When they found out that the woman was married and her husband himself handed her to them, they told her to run away from the place.
Later the police arrested the husband and an intermediary between him and the ritual killers. Upon interrogation the man confessed having received N400,000 and was awaiting the balance.
Plateau State Police Command has also paraded 30 more suspects: persons suspected of committing culpable homicides, car snatchers, receivers of stolen vehicles, cattle rustlers and armed robbers.
One of them was a farmer, Bilyaminu Musa, from Angwa Hausawa in Gindiri , Mangu Local government area. He was arrested for chopping off the hand of one Bala Musa who allegedly has been stealing from his farm and destroying his crops.
Another man, Hwok Markus, a resident of Riyom in Riyom local governmnet area, had tried killing his father Markus Jok, by giving him matchet cuts on his head and neck for allegedly accusing him of being a wizard.
Bala Musa and Sunday Andrew were also arrested after they confessed in using witchcraft to kill one Ijah Awasak. Bala further disclosed that he had killed his sister Blessing the same way in 2012.
