An unnamed man was beaten and tortured mercilessly by some soldiers in Calabar. According to Cyprianlah, the man was alleged to be a thief and was caught and beaten by soldiers on Thursday after he allegedly stole from a woman. The man is said to have pretended to want to buy underwear from a woman for N500.
It was however reported that immediately after the woman had sold the underwear and men's clothing and put the money in her purse, the N500 plus all the money in her purse disappeared. She was said to have raised an alarm almost immediately she noticed the strange occurrence. The woman shouted "Inor, Inor" at the top of her voice.
Unfortunately for the man, soldiers were passing by the road side just at the moment everything happened. They chased and caught him as he tried to make away before being caught. The soldiers tortured him, asking him to confess, they removed his clothes and made him swim in the gutter pool, beating him with a locally made cane called koboko.
But guess what, while they were torturing him the alleged money reappeared! Ghen Ghen!! The eyewitness who reported this incident concluded by saying it was shocking and indeed strange things are happening.
