The dreaded Jama'atu AhlisSunna Lidda'awati Waljahad group, popularly known as Boko Haram, has launched a new campaign platform to win people over to their side.
This is coming at a time when the Federal Government and the rest of the world are trying to bring an end to all acts of terrorism being perpetrated by the sect in Nigeria.
Daily Trust reports that the Islamist sect launched a new Public Relations campaign on social media site, Twitter.
The twitter handle, @Alurwa_Alwuthqa is claiming to be the mouthpiece of the deadly sect.
Alurwa Alwuthqa, communicating in Arabic announced the sect's capture of Monguno and shared photos of child soldiers being trained by the sect.
The account began tweeting on January 18, and has already amassed over 4,000 followers a. The first tweet was something about Baga.
The account also has a video interview with Abu Mus'ab Albarnawi, who is claiming to be the spokesman of the group.
The faces of the both interviewer and interviewee were blurred in the video.There is however no video of the sect's leader, Abubakar Shekau on the account.
The Nigerian Defence Headquarters is yet to comment on the Twitter account and its content.
