Fr. Mbaka stated that his support for Jonathan in the last six years did not attract death threats or condemnation from opposition politicians. He also used the opportunity to address allegations that he received some money from Mrs. Joanthan last during her visit to his church. He said that Mr. Jonathan dropped money for him through Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, but that he left the money with Ekweremadu and his wife, he further stated that the money Mrs. Jonathan gave as offering at the church's offertory was equally returned to her.
He went on to say that after the attempt to bribe him failed, the president and his wife have concluded to kill him, "I want to send this message to the atmosphere, let it now be known to the whole world that President Jonathan and Patience want to assassinate Fr Mbaka. It's a known secret. So however they are planning it, I don't know. Whomever they want to use, I don't know. They will not come themselves and do it, they will use this unemployed people. The same people I am speaking for. Just like in the days of Chimaroke, (Nnamani - former Enugu governor) I came here one day, announcing this type of thing, that they are planning to attack the ministry, people said it can not happen. One night, 7th March, they struck."
Mbaka also asked the congregation to pray against an impending disaster resulting from the aftermath of the elections.
