Michael Oyenkachi Chukwuma, a man from the slums of Idi-Araba, Lagos, lifts heavy loads using his teeth.
He discovered his unusual talent in the ghetto and in 2010, Michael earned the 'strongest teeth in Africa' title by using his teeth to lift 150kg of iron weight.
Michael told Reuters that, "it was a talent from God, I discovered it when I was in the ghetto. You know, poverty makes people in the ghetto discover talents."
He started lifting small weights and gradually moved to larger ones, and he claims he can lift up to 350kg. He adds that he follows a strict dental regime, but admits he has been seriously injured performing his toothy feats of strength.
In the middle of last year (2014), Michael made himself a Nigerian millionaire by using nothing but his teeth. The Lagos-based wonder was invited to Germany where he surpassed the unbeatable Super biter on a German TV show 'Unbeatable'.
When Marco Schreyl, the host of 'Unbeatable' invited Michael to the show, for him, it was the chance of a lifetime. For the first time, he traveled to Europe to face the unbeatable candidate Hans-Jürgen Pietsch in the studio.
"Life in the ghetto is not easy," the Nigerian challenger described his daily struggle. As a street artist, he impressed people in Lagos with his mighty teeth and earned a few pennies. The studio audience was so touched by his story and motivation.
He traveled from Nigeria to beat the unbeatable Super biter. He defeated Hans-Jürgen and also a second challenger, Steve Schmidt.
In the semi-final, Michael pulled 62 nails from a wooden beam in two minutes, using his teeth. The unbeatable candidate Hans-Jürgen managed only 35.
In the final battle, within a minute, he drew three nails over challenger Steve from wooden beams. Michael was so overwhelmed with his victory that he broke down and cried.
Michael, the winner of 'Unbeatable', is now 50,000 Euros richer and wants to set up a charity for the slum in Lagos, where he was born.
He wants to start the relief organization, "in order to fight poverty in my slum".
