Chile defender Gonzalo Jara pulled a nasty move yesterday, that resulted in Uruguay's Edinson Cavani being sent off after getting his second yellow card.
It all started when Jara and Cavani began jawing at one another during the second half of the game. The referee stepped in to separate the two, but Jara wasn't finished. As soon as the referee turned his back, Jara walked over to Cavani and poked him in the backside.
All the referee saw was Cavani's retaliation, so he red carded him, while Jara went unpunished.
Chile went on to defeat Uruguay 1-0 to book a place in the semi-finals, but Jara got what was coming to him after the match. According to soccer reporter Juan Arango, he has been banned for the remainder of the Copa America tournament for his actions.
