Terrifying Moment Powerful Lightning Struck A Plane At The Airport | Video

A man was recording a heavy thunderstorm at the airport when he captured a huge lightning bolt slamming straight into the tail of a Delta Air Lines plane. The incident took place at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Georgia, United States.

The eyewitness of the incident, who identified himself as Jack Perkins, wrote: "While filming the line of planes all stacked up during a ground hold in Atlanta on Tuesday. I happened to capture this direct lightning strike on a 737."

According to Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant, lightning struck the Las Vegas-bound Delta Flight 67 on Tuesday, as the Boeing 737-900R aircraft was in the takeoff queue in Atlanta.

There were no reports of injuries among the 111 passengers and six crew who were on board.
