Accrording to revelations made during Chris Brown's progress hearing held at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. The singer is suffering from bipolar disorder, severe insomnia and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
During the hearing, Brown's therapist revealed that the reason the singer has had such bouts of angers in the past is that he had been self-medicating inappropriately.
"Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD,"Mail Online reports the facility as writing in its affidavit.
Brown recently completed 95 days of anger management therapy -- having chosen to stay five days more than his court-ordered 90 days. During his stay this time around, the singer cooperated well and showed a lot of enthusiasm to get better.
It was also revealed that Brown is now on proper medication, and as a result he is getting better. He is also making remarkable progress in terms of his attitude and has tested negative for drug use during his incarceration. He has also been taught some invaluable exercises to help him relax and during his stay, he used to get up at 5 a.m. and has been "working hard." It was also noted that his "attitude has been beyond exemplary in regard to his community service responsibilities."
During the hearing on Friday, Brown portrayed a very sombre picture, with his eyes downcast and head down. He was dressed in a shiny gray suit and white collared shirt, with his tattoos showing from underneath his collar.
The hearing stems from the 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Since then, the pair have been in an on-again, off-again relationship. According to the latest reports, the two have been texting each other again since Rihanna's birthday, which took place on Feb. 20.
Meanwhile, Brown's other girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, has reportedly been kicked to the curb once more. Brown has even unfollowed Tran on Twitter since getting released from his Malibu treatment facility. It seems that the singer will likely reunite with Rihanna and Tran will take a backseat.
On the other hand, Tran recently posted a picture on her Instagram account showing her holding a note that reads, "Treat your girl right." This is clearly a message for Brown, but it seems quite likely that he will pay no heed to it.
After his appearance, Brown tweeted: "Never really goes the way u plan. #LIFE".
