Dead Man Resurrects At His Own Funeral
Mourners at a funeral in Zimbabwe were stunned when the dead man woke up as they filed by his coffin, state media reported.
Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, was being laid to rest inside a coffin last Monday after he apparently died at his home following a long illness.
The transport worker's grieving family covered his body with blankets and made arrangements to transfer him to a local mortuary, according to a report in the Herald newspaper.
But the next day Mr Zanthe's friends and relatives scattered in disbelief when he started moving as they filed past to say their emotional goodbyes.
The dead man's boss Lot Gaka told the Herald of the moment he realised his employee was still alive.
He said: 'I was the first to notice Zanthe's moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body. This shocked me.
'At first I could not believe my eyes but later realised that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief.'
Mr Gaka, who runs a bus company in the midlands city of Gweru, told the newspaper Mr Zanthe had been persistently unwell before his 'death' last week.
He told how he visited the family's home to offer support when his employee's wife called to say he had passed away.
He said: 'Zanthe had been on sick leave for some time and everyone at work was aware that he was critical.
'We would visit him at his home.
'I was not surprised when I received a call from Zanthe's wife on Monday night last week saying that her husband had died.'
He added: 'I visited two local funeral parlours for quotations before I drove to Zanthe's house so that we could take the body to the mortuary.
'Zanthe's body had already been put in a coffin and people were preparing to conduct a body viewing procession so that his body could be taken to a mortuary.
'It was during the body viewing procession that he "resurrected".'
Another witness told the state-controlled newspaper how the family desperately pulled blankets off Mr Zanthe's body to try to revive him after realising he was still alive.
He said: 'Gaka later removed some blankets from Zanthe's body after we noticed some movements and this was when we all realised that there was still life.
'We then called an ambulance which came within seven minutes.
'It's really a miracle and most people are still in disbelief.'
The Herald, which is owned by Zimbabwe's government, reported that Mr Zanthe spent two days on life support after being rushed to the Gweru Provincial Hospital following the incident.
He was discharged last week and has since returned home.
The shaken family man told the newspaper he had only a hazy recollection of the event.
He said: 'This issue can be best told by people who came to my house to attend my funeral.
'I don't know what happened and I only remember being on a life support system in hospital.'
He added: 'Everything is history to me.
'What I can only confirm is that people gathered at my house to mourn but I was given another chance and I am alive. I feel okay now.'

David Beckham Retires From Football
David Beckham is to retire from football at the end of this season after an illustrious 20-year career.
The former England captain made 115 appearances for his country and 394 for Manchester United, winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
Beckham, 38, signed a five-month deal at Paris St-Germain in January.
"I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level," he said.
PSG have two more games before the end of the season, at home against Brest on Saturday and away to Lorient on 26 May.
Beckham, who donates his salary with the newly crowned French champions to charity, has made 13 appearances since moving to Paris.
The Leytonstone, east London-born midfielder has played for United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy, AC Milan and PSG, lifting 19 trophies including 10 league titles.
He is the only English player to win championships in four countries.
"If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy," he said.
"I'm fortunate to have realised those dreams."
Beckham joined United as a trainee in 1991, making his first-team debut the following year and signing his first professional contract in 1993.
He became one of the world's most high-profile sportsmen during his time at Old Trafford - and a global celebrity following his marriage to Spice Girl Victoria Adams in 1999.
Then came a move to Real Madrid in 2003 with whom Beckham won a La Liga title in 2007 before switching to the United States with LA Galaxy.
He was loaned to AC Milan during the MLS off-season in 2009 and 2010, and his stay in the US ended when he signed for PSG.
Beckham made his England debut against Moldova in 1996 and captained the side from 2000 to 2006, making his 115th and final England appearance in a 3-0 win over Belarus in 2009.
"To this day, one of my proudest achievements is captaining my country. I knew every time I wore the Three Lions shirt, I was not only following in a long line of great players, I was also representing every fan that cared passionately about their country," he said.
"I want people to see me as a hardworking footballer - someone who, when he steps on the pitch, gives everything he's got. When I look back on my career that is how I look back on it and that is how I hope people have seen me."
Beckham was the first English player to score at three consecutive World Cup finals and has the joint-second most goal assists in European Championship finals history.
He played a significant role in the successful bid to bring the 2012 Olympic Games to London and in March of this year became the first sportsman from outside of China to be invited to become the ambassador for the sport in the country.
"Nothing will ever completely replace playing the game I love," added Beckham. "However, I feel like I'm starting a new adventure and I'm genuinely excited about what lies ahead.
"I'm fortunate to have been given many opportunities throughout my career and now I feel it's my time to give back."
UK Prime Minister David Cameron said: "David Beckham has been an outstanding footballer throughout his career.
"Not only that - he has been a brilliant ambassador for this country, not least if we remember all the work he did in helping us win London 2012."
England manager Roy Hodgson added: "He's had a glittering career, iconic status, and I wish him well in the future."
Beckham concluded his statement by thanking his family.
"I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family. I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams," he said.
"I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period."

Over 900 CCTV Cameras Deployed In Lagos
Over 900 closed-circuit television, CCTV, cameras have been deployed in Lagos State and already supplying video footages to relevant agencies, State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Adebiyi Mabadeje, has said.
Mabadeje, at a briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, said that the current deployment of the CCTV by the Federal Government was not in conflict with the earlier efforts by the state government.
According to him, the state would soon embark on the pilot resident registration exercise, which would enable the government to collect, collate and manage a database of all residents.
He noted that the state government had advertised and called for the expression of interest by private investors with requisite expertise and funding for “a world-class’’ forensic laboratory under a Public-Private Partnership in which the government will provide land in Badagry.
Mabadeje stressed that the state government expects to receive inputs from the Federal Government and security agencies in executing the project, which he claimed would save the state hard-earned foreign exchange expended in carrying out forensic investigations and studies on crime and health-related matters overseas.

Man Burns His Wife For Being Too Beautiful [Video]
A man in Kenya burnt his wife for being too beautiful after being married for than two years.
The victim of the domestic violence, Janet Mwihaki, a citizen of Kenya met her fate after giving birth to their third son in 2005.
Janet and John got married, back in the day when she was still a beautiful woman in 1999. In 2000, she gave birth to their first child, their second in 2002 and in 2005, their last born. That was when he started changing his character, Janet said.
Janet's hands and entire body is currently burned, disfiguring, not only her face but also her hands, ears, neck, back, among other places on her body. Before she got burnt however, she separated from him for a year and police advised her to report him to the authorities if she ever saw him again.
For the crime he committed, John was given a ten-year jail sentence and today, he is remaining with only three to be released. According to prison guards, John today is a changed man and because of his good conduct, he might be released early.
Asked why he burnt his wife, John said it was because she used to cheat on him, charges she denies saying he was the one who disregarded their marriage vows.

70-Year-Old Man Marries 15-Year-Old Girl In Saudi Arabia
The elderly man has spoken to media to confirm the marriage took place, and has said that the teenager's family sold her to him for about US $20,000, according to CNN.
The 70-year-old has also claimed that the girl's family had tried to snatch her back, and that he complained to authorities that they had taken his money and ripped him off.
However, human rights workers in the region have suggested a different story, and have said that the elderly man and young girl had fought, sparking her to run back to her family.
According to CNN, the girl's father is from Yemen, where as her mother is a Saudi Arabia citizen. The family live in Al-Hurath village in Jizan province, in southwestern Saudi Arabia, which is close to the border with Yemen.
The Human Rights Commission has confirmed that it has sent an investigator to the area in an attempt to offer the girl any assistance she requires. One way in which the commission might help is to provide legal assistance if the young girl disputes the marriage in court. The HRC advocates that anyone under the age of 18 should require court permission prior to being allowed to marry.

A sheep gave birth to a dead lamb with a human-like face. The lamb was born in a village not far from the city of Izmir, Turkey.
Erhan Elibol, a vet, performed a caesarean on the animal to take the lamb out, but was horrified to see that the features of the lamb’s snout bore a striking resemblance to a human face.
“I’ve seen mutations with cows and sheep before. I’ve seen a one-eyed calf, a two-headed calf, a five-legged calf. But when I saw this youngster I could not believe my eyes. His mother could not deliver him so I had to help the animal,” the 29-year-old veterinary said.
The lamb’s head had human features on – the eyes, the nose and the mouth – only the ears were those of a sheep.
Vets said that the rare mutation most likely occurred as a result of improper mutation since the fodder for the lamb’s mother was abundant with vitamin A, CNNTurk.com reports.
